Thanksgiving is only a few days away. And no matter where the road leads, we always look for ways to thank our Lord Jesus for what He has done and look for ways to demonstrate our love for Him and for others. As part of JP's non-profit organization, we are always looking for ways to bridge cultural understanding as well.
No. Indians do not celebrate Thanksgiving just in case you were confused. But we do. On Thursday, as we devour our "turkey" and savor the flavors of green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, and pumpkin pie, we will give Thanks to our Lord for the many Indian friends He has given us! We felt one way to be the scent and letter was to prepare small "Giving Thanks to Jesus" gifts to our closest friends. A card with Sawyer's handprint decorated like a turkey from a friend's blog, but tweaked just a bit, a short story of the meaning of Thanksgiving printed on the back, and a loaf of banana bread inside, was the our gift to show thanks!
As of today, we've delivered 5 and have 8 more to go!
