2011 Meal Plan

If you were to take a peek inside my planner, you would find meals written out for 2 weeks in advance.  And, despite the fact that some friends enjoy teasing me about this, it really helps me stay organized when considering balanced diet, grocery lists and budget, chicken: mince or breast, and daily maid responsibilities.  However, this post has absolutely NOTHING to do with my anal ways of formulating a family meal plan! 

We are not in the habit of making New Year's Resolutions.  For no other reason than the fact that, personally, we have found them a waste of time.  In the past, we have set them and have always found failure.  Perhaps because they have always been focused on self for personal gain or perhaps merely due to the fact that attainment was done in our own power and strength.  Regardless of the "because", each reason always found us falling short.

However, in recent years, we've tried to reflect during New Years on where we have come on the journey with our Lord in the past year and where He wants to lead us for the next.  2011 MEAL PLAN!  We have a basket of heart ornaments.  They were ornaments we had planned on giving out at our Christmas party this year.  But when plans began to change, He began to reveal a new plan.  For the next year, we are going to talk to the Father over these 13 hearts, representing the hearts of the 13 families we feel He put in our path in the plan of 2010.  Throughout the next year, we are to invite each of these families over to our home for a meal.  (Of course depending on the family, the plan may vary as to whether non-veg is included).  We truly feel this meal plan will not only continue to deepen Alicia's relationship with the women, but also begin to deepen JP's with the men.  Plus, nothing could be more personal than having a family join us in our home for a meal that we give thanks to our Lord for providing!  Christmas 2011?  The plan is to give those same heart ornaments away to the 13 families at our Christmas party along with a message that would fill their hearts with belief and action!  2011 MEAL PLAN!

We praise the Lord for this plan for 2011.  It was not of our own doing, but designed and given to us by our Father.  For we have so much on our minds at this time in our lives, when would we ever have time to make plans for a party 1 year in advance?  We share it with you in hopes that you join in our excitement as well as to hold us accountable to the part HE is asking us to play in HIS story.  And perhaps maybe, just maybe, there is a plan He has for you in 2011 that you haven't yet discovered or are supposed to go to Him and ask?
