How to be more Beautiful than Aishwarya Rai!

This year we added an addition to our craft parties.  We hosted discussion talks.  Our first discussion talk day was on beauty: "How to be more Beautiful than Aishwarya Rai".  Aish, a very famous Bollywood actress, was once Miss World, and is becoming well known in Hollywood now.  You can see her in "Pink Panther 2" and "Bride & Prejudice".  She is quite stunning with her olive complexion and real blue eyes.  Definitely a lady that any young girl would desire to look like.

For our talks, we sat around small tables of 4, listening to background music ranging from Christina Aguilera to Jeremy Camp with the words beauty or pretty in them, chatting and answering fun guiding questions about beauty techniques and practices.  Then I got up and introduced the theme.  I asked for volunteers to share what was talked about at their tables which they immediately started sharing and interrupting each other with excitement.  I then began comparing what Hollywood/Bollywood tells us is beautiful as per what we see on tv and magazines and what the truth is regarding our inner beauty in our hearts.  One of my friends immediately shouted out, "AIR BRUSHING!!!"  It was too funny!

2 of our team members shared their stories on what they have learned regarding beauty.  One lady shared her personal story regarding beauty in cancer and how her holy book, the Bible, tells her specifically how beautiful she is to the Most High.  Another lady shared how her heart was once ugly because of the ways she chose to act, but after praying to the Most High, her heart changed and now she is completely different and beautiful despite the fact that she continues to get old.

The session ended with one last table facilitated guiding question, a drawing for 4 lucky winners to receive a free trip to get a manicure with me, and with each lady receiving a rose to remember that they are BEAUTIFUL in the Most High God's eyes because they were created by Him.  So many ladies were touched, shared how wonderful it was to hear the women's stories, and, imparticular, one good friend of mine was so overwhelmed by what was shared she mentioned that she too has a holy book with her faith, but it tells her nothing about beauty and was amazed that our holy book does.  Another friend sat in the room with tears in her eyes!  All 30 chairs filled for the talks!  24 Indian friends listening with open ears.  Truly, it was a beautiful day; a beautiful sight!!
