By law in India, an international retail company cannot start franchises within the country under the international name. Therefore, the company must partner with an Indian company, take on the Indian name or decide upon another name, if it wants to make a start. Thus we get Walmart in India: Easy Day!!I am thankful for the modern ways in our city, but often wish we had a few of the restaurants and other pluses you can find in Delhi. But let me just say, the Lord surprised us just last week! Easy Day, the first in our city, opened not 5 minutes away from our home. We usually have to drive 20 minutes into town to get certain staple products from another supermarket. We believe; however, that this opens the opportunity to get those same products closer to us allowing Alicia the freedom to drive and purchase them ALL BY HERSELF! The products are still Indian (not what you would find in American Walmarts), but the concept is the same! What a great surprise this Christmas season!!
