Sawyer, our son, was born in a place with state of the art medical facilities, has a closet full of clothes, a room decorated to fulfill a boy's imaginary safari adventures, and lives in a house we constantly try to keep clean for his safety. Jesus, the Most High's Son, was born in conditions that differed in every way. Yet, within the simplicity of it all, there was and IS a most remarkable, POWER that is unlike no other Name, Place, or Way!
While listening to Christmas music, we stumbled upon this song that we hadn't heard in a long time. Many of you may remember it as the 6th track on Second's Christmas cd, recorded many years ago. As the song expresses our precious, humble Savior's birth and our place within the nativity, may it bring joy, hope, and peace to you as it has for us this Christmas Season!
Infinite Lord, my infant King
Clothed in humility
Your only robes, your swaddling clothes
Crying your first decree
Your grand domain
Your crown and train
Darkness and dust and sheep
Jesus in dust and hay, I kneel
Stabled in deepest need
My only robes your righteousness
Mercy my only plea
My light your gaze
My song your praise
My hope and prayer, Your peace
Infinite Lord, my infant King
My hope and prayer, Your peace
Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged! For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go! -Josh 1:9
