Sitting at Desk: 3 young men who immediately pop up with the first glance of white females entrance.
Clerk #1, #2, #3 simultaneously: (in cocky-so proud I know some English-accent) Yes, Ma'am, can I help you!
Alicia: (a bit hesitant and overwhelmed at the response): Um...yeah...I am looking for pool toys. Do you have any?
Clerk #1: (jumping out from behind the desk sooner than the rest and with same accent) Why, yeys Ma'am, we have them. See here. We have many. We have one like this.
Clerk #1 shows Alicia a toy.
Alicia responds in silence but with a face that shows confusion thinking to herself...is this a joke?
Alicia: Um, a pool toy?
Clerk #1: Yes Ma'am see you pull it like this!!!
Alicia is enlightened with understanding and awareness of the mis-communication.
Alicia: Oh no not PULL toys. I need pool toys. Like in swimming, water. Something you blow-up for a baby to play with in water?
Clerk #1 laughs.
Clerk #1: Oh pool!! Yes yes we have! Right here.
Alicia sighs with relief and a bit of excitement and she turns to see the variety of pool toys.
Clerk #1 shows Alicia the item she needs.......
Alicia sighs again.
Alicia: Oh no, not a pool. Just toys for the pool.
Clerk #1 doesn't repond but stands with a blank look on his face while Alicia quickly scans the shelf.
Alicia: Okay, no you don't have it. Thanks anyway!!!
Exit children's toy store- Alicia giving up hope that she will find what she is looking for today!

So this story is so common to me that it shouldn't be funny, but reliving my, oh so many experiences with the want to be ever so helpful clerks exactly like this one, I had to chuckle!!!
You can ask for bathtub toys. The toy stores usually have whole bathtub toy sets, like Mickey Mouse or Pooh with boats & such(these will be kind of costly, like 300 - 400 Rs.)
We also use the little rubbery balls, with or without squeakers, they always float. We have even used the stacking rings from one of Nathanael's baby toys. Also, any toy that is inflatable will also work. The swimming pools here don't have strict restrictions to pool toys, like they do in the US, probably because they haven't seen them before. You know, pools are for swimming laps only, ha ha!
