JP is taking the metro into Delhi at least twice a week now. It saves on money, time, and my husbands patience level; decreasing the often stirring desire to either punch someone or ram into one of the motorcycle knats! Okay so the last part is actually an inside joke that is often brought up, but, for those of you who don't know JP as well, let me assure you he is QUITE the gentleman and would never do such a thing. Unless, of course, if he needed to in order to defend himself or his family.
But with the reoccurring metro rides comes more adventure! Today he was supposed to meet Sonny* in central Delhi, but wasn't going to get on until he made contact with him in order to confirm times and places. After several attempts, he could not get through the cell phone and needed Sonny's house number which he did not have on the phone. Long story short, he called up a friend, got the number, couldn't remember it, didn't have a pen, and so solved his problem by writing the number down in the dirt. And, for those of you who have visited, dirt that one would need to easily write in is NOT hard to find! If only I had been there with the camera. Of course, 2 things crossed my mind when he told me this: 1-Did he remember to wipe away the dirt bearing Sonny's phone number afterwards? 2- I hope he washed his hands before he ate lunch!
Have not I commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged! For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go! -Josh 1:9
